Items needed for Ditty Bags

Now through Nov. 3

The Seattle Seafarers Center provides about 1,000 ditty bags to merchant seafarers  full of all kinds of basic necessities each year. It’s that time again for St. Andrew’s to collect items and get them to the center.

What goes into a ditty bag?

  • an adult-sized knit hat

  • full size (please no travel size) bottle of shampoo and/or body wash

  • full size toothpaste

  • toothbrush (individually wrapped)

  • deodorant

  • shaving cream

  • razors

  • candy or snacks (ex. individually wrapped chocolate, nuts, or trail mix)

  • deck of cards or other small games

  • notepad and pen/pencil

  • hand or body lotion

  • socks or gloves

  • a hand-written card

  • something else special!

They are also accepting donations of sanitary products for the female seafarers.

Please bring in donations this Sunday, Oct 27 or next Sunday, 11/3

Rector’s Book Study ~ The Path

Tuesdays at 3 pm & Sundays at 9 am  in the Library

This is an opportunity to wrestle with passages in the Bible, beginning with Genesis. The editors of The Path have chosen specific scriptures representing the many different eras, genres, books and people of the Bible. This isn’t a verse-by-verse study, but rather a big picture view of the Bible. Come join the discussion on either Sunday or Tuesday.
