Presiding Bishop Michael Curry receiving medical monitoring and treatment

Over Memorial Day weekend, Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry was admitted to the hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he underwent testing for internal bleeding and a heart condition. He has been discharged and will be monitored while working on a reduced schedule from home.

CurryÂs internal bleeding is under control, and additional test results are expected later this week. He has been receiving treatment for atrial fibrillation (AFib), which was detected in an annual physical. While in the hospital, Curry experienced two other episodes of irregular heartbeat, and he will wear a heart monitor to determine what further treatment is necessary.
Until he is cleared for air travel by his medical team, Curry will remain in Raleigh, resting and working from home on a reduced schedule. As more information becomes available regarding CurryÂs health and schedule, his staff will provide updates.
Please pray for a full and speedy recoveryÂand for CurryÂs medical team as they identify the best course of treatment.

Join us on each of the four Wednesdays in June (7, 14, 21, 28) at 5 pm for pizza & salad and short discussion of Rowan WilliamsÂ book, Being Christian: Baptism, Bible, Eucharist, Prayer. Â There are only four chapters, weÂll discuss one chapter per week. Books are available at Amazon for $10.99 (or $9.49 on Kindle)

Wednesday Holy Eucharist at 11 am

This week we celebrate the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin.

Two prayers find their roots in the Visitation:

When Elizabeth greets Mary, she calls out to her the words that became the most well known Marian prayer Â the Hail Mary. Â ÂBlessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.Â After Elizabeth says that Mary is the mother of God, Mary responds with the words of the Magnificat, which is now an important part of evening prayer.

Ways to Worship with Us

Sunday 8:00 and 10:00 am - Wherever you are in your journey of faith, you are welcome at the Lord's Table. For those who cannot attend in person, the service is offered via livestream on our Facebook page or anytime on our website.
In Forks at St. Swithin's - Â Each Sunday at 2:30 pm - We meet at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for Holy Eucharist or Prayer.
Mid-week Worship Service each Wednesday in person at 11 am.
