| ÂThe Lord was not in the wind, and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake, and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire, and after the fire a sound of sheer silence. I Kings 19:11-12 |
| | The Path Book Study Tuesdays at 3 pm & Sundays at 9 am  in the Library WhatÂs this all about?
ÂThis accessible journey through the Good Book reclaims the Bible as a grand story, from GodÂs creation to ChristÂs return, and returns us again and again to its central questions of love, sin, and redemption. The Path is a perfect entry point for people who want to know more about the Bible but donÂt know where to start. ÂJana Riess   |
| | | Wednesday Holy Eucharist -  11 am Frederick Howden, Jr. Priest and Chaplain of the Armed Forces, 1941 The Rev. Chaplain Frederick B. ÂTed Howden Jr. died [on Dec. 11, 1942] of starvation-induced pellagra in a Japanese Prisoner of War camp after selflessly giving his rations to others he felt needed them more. We observe his martyrdom as a measure of the price of ministry in the struggle for freedom. |

| | | Advent 3 - Joy Sunday, December 15 The third Sunday of Advent we light the candle of Joy. It is a time to think about what it means to Ârejoice in the Lord and how to live into the peace that guards our hearts and minds in Christ. Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ÂPhilippians 4:4-7 |
| | St Lucia On Sunday, Dec 15 at the 10:00 service, we will have a procession of St. Lucia. Under the direction of Tami Jones, the children of St. AndrewÂs, along with the children of Scandia Hall, will don white robes and wreaths of candles in honor of young Lucia. Lucia symbolizes the coming end of the long winter nights and the return of light to the world. Â Different stories and traditions surround St. Lucia, but all focus on the central themes of service and light. St. Lucia is celebrated in Sweden and throughout the world, and honored by many cultures. Read more about St. Lucia here. |

| | | Greening of the Church Saturday, Dec 21 at 10:30 am Sunday, Dec 22 at noon
Every year, towards the end of Advent, St. Andrew's "greens" the church in preparation for the Christmas services. Many hands are needed to assemble greenery, hang swags and lights, fill window boxes, create wreaths for the windows, etc. Melinda Szatlocky and Anna Magner will be the coordinators this year. WeÂll meet on Saturday, 12/21 at 10:30 to assemble swags and prepare for decorating on Sunday after church.  The church is always beautiful at Christmas and we need you to lend your hands! Thank you, thank you, all! See you on the 21st at 10:30. |
