St. Andrew's eNews

"We can be stoic about imperfection, within us and about us, or better still, we can look beyond our moment to a brighter day when the wine will not disappoint us. When Jesus visited a wedding in Cana he performed a miracle that served to remind his disciples of that brighter day, a day that transcends the imperfect moment. His disciples understood the point he was making and decided to trust him to carry them to that day. Do we trust him to carry us to that day of perfection and plenty?"  www.lectionarystudies.com

Annual Meeting Information from Karen+

January 23rd at 12:00 noon, log on at 11:45 (Zoom Link below)

Please join us for our Annual Meeting on Zoom. At this important meeting we will hear from our Call Committee, elect new members of Vestry and diocesan delegates, say thank you to those who have served in leadership and welcome new leaders.

We are still taking names for those who would like to serve on Vestry. And we are looking for delegates to attend the annual Diocesan Convention. This is an especially exciting time in both our congregation and in the diocese to be in leadership. I encourage you to prayerfully consider this opportunity.

Please know, our annual meeting will be safe in this time of pandemic, because we are on Zoom and not in person. Our desire is to make this experience as accessible as possible. If you do not feel comfortable or do not have access to Zoom, please contact the office and let us know so we can make arrangements to help you. Also, if you are using a phone and cannot be seen on the Zoom site please let us know that as well. Those who cannot be seen will require help in voting. Steve Deuterman has offered to facilitate this process and as we get closer, information will be given to those who need help voting.

We look forward to seeing you there!
Anna is inviting you to St. Andrew's Annual Meeting.

Worship with Us

In Today's news, North Olympic Health Officer Dr. Allison Berry warns us that we will experience peak COVID cases by the end of January and into the month of February. Currently, St. Andrews remains open for Sunday services at 8 am and 10 am, requiring proof of vaccination, masks, and social distancing. We are not doing coffee hour, partaking of the common cup at communion, or singing. Our focus is always to be mindful of the wellbeing of all those who enter our doors. Vestry will review these protocols at our next vestry meeting on January 20th and update the congregation if any changes are to be implemented in order to keep each of us as safe as possible.

In the meantime, please be aware that we offer several alternatives to in-person worship each week. We film the Sunday Holy Eucharist service at 10:00 am and live stream it on Facebook and then it is put on our website and can be seen at any time. We meet each Wednesday for Morning Prayer at 11:00 am via Zoom. We meet Saturday evenings at 5:00pm for Pray for the World service,   St. Swithin's offers Evening Prayer via Zoom every Sunday evening at 5:00pm. If you need assistance in accessing these services, please contact our office.

Our Website

We’re rethinking the web site, and you can help.

If you are involved in any of the ministries of the church, please go to
http://standrewpa.org and click on the “Ministries” box located right beneath the video on the home page.  There you should find a list of all the ministries of St. Andrew’s.  Is yours there?  Many of the descriptions haven’t been updated in over 10 years.  Is yours correct?  Does the description include contact information?  Is that information correct?  Please let Phil know (pcellis@gmail.com) if there is any editing you see that needs to be done.
Also-

The church staff is listed on the Contact Us page (click on “Contact Us” at the top, or bottom of the home page).  I’m only listing email/phone information for those staff asking me to.  Also, I’ve been asked to post a short bio for each staff member.  If you’d like your email/phone listed, or if you want to include a short bio to go along with your photo, again contact Phil (
pcellis@gmail.com) and let him know.

We’d like to have a complete web site for prospective new members, and for any prospective new rector to see.  If you have any input, or if you see anything missing that you think should be there please contact Phil (
pcellis@gmail.com) and let him know.
