Limericks

They tell a story in just a few short lines. Some are a bit ridiculous like the one above.

Some report on day-to-day life:
At home on my self-quarantine
For fear of the Covid-19,
     I?ve finished my chores,
     And now I?m so bored.
It?s only 11:15!
by Mary Longacre

Don't try to fly overseas
Someone on the plane just might sneeze
So if you're not keen
To see quarantine
Just stay where you are if you please.

The lockdown has got me quite floored
I?ve read all the books that I stored.
And even at stages
I?ve read Yellow Pages
Do you think I?m a tiny bit bored?

And then there are the limericks that express a feeling, for example, gratitude:

There once were great heroes who worked hard.
Like the doctors and nurses who stood guard.
When Covid did reign,
They took on the strain,
As the virus the world did bombard.

So here?s to the critical workers
The dustmen and medic researchers.
I?ve written these verses
In praise of the nurses
And all who are there to support us.

It?s always easy to criticize, but how often do we send notes or messages, or limericks of gratitude to people who share so much of their lives with the world? Make it your intention to just brighten someone?s day with an unexpected note and see just how much it brightens your own.

It is easier to be positive, negative takes away so much energy.  It?s so much easier to do a tiny little thing that makes a world of difference in someone?s life.  It?s so much easier to Love than hate.
? Adapted from a blog by Greg Utsinger
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another?and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
? Hebrews 10:24-25

?If you send out goodness from yourself, or if you share that which is happy or good within you, it will all come back to you multiplied ten thousand times. In the kingdom of love there is no competition; there is no possessiveness or control.

The more love you give away, the more love you will have.?
